week 4

week 4 was monotone week - 95% had to be one colour and the photo either black/white, sepia or tinted in one colour.
Journaling: “step through a door...realise the possibilities” inspired by “As you walk through this door” by nochance

Kit used is Shine Like A Star by Krazy Mary

week 3

I am a bit late with this post. I got through week 2 and this was my lo for week 3. The theme was journalling - we had to do 200 words and 1 picture without people or animals. my photo had a few ducks and a couple of rowing boats that i had to remove. but I got through so was quite chuffed!

Journaling reads:
You were our first child – a longed for little boy with lots and lots of dark hair.
When you were three weeks old you began to cry and cry and cry. You didn’t want to feed. Your tummy became blue and you were sleepy and floppy. You were three weeks old when an ambulance took you to hospital – little did we know that it would be 14 months before you would be back at home!
You were transferred to Great Ormond Street under police escort, with sirens sounding, where you were diagnosed with a heart defect. Next came long operations and complications and infections and more infections and more complications and more long operations.
We then fast forward over 10 years to a family holiday in the Lake District where you climbed a mountain – a proper mountain. This was a real achievement as you have severely reduced oxygen levels. We went back the following year and you climbed another, harder, mountain.
This picture is Derwent Water which looks very calm and peaceful in contrast to the wild unpredictable mountains behind. There are dark clouds but through these clouds the sun is fighting to shine through. Even in those dark unpredictable days in hospital there where rays of hope while you fought and fought and fought.

Survivor challenge Week 3

Have been allowed through to next round.
This weeks challenge is Food!
This is my speedy layout as not going to be able to do much over thge next few days.

Journaling reads:
I miss…
…the sound of the wrapper being
torn frantically from the chocolate,
the sweet smell that hints of the pleasure
to come, the chocolate melting on my
tongue and filling that craving
and the thought of the next bite

Survivor!

I am signed up to do the Gingerscraps Survivor Challenge. The first week challenge is a jungle theme and I am struggling for ideas and kits! I am also going away so may not be able to compete that week. I didn't plan too well.

virus!

I have a virus on my pc. It is rogue spyware but is really annoying. I daren't do anything. I downloaded a load of freebies from the stuff to scrap blog train and it kept crashing, then all by bookmarks disappeared - over 100 craft links. Very cross.

Jaelop Designs

Click over to the above site for amazing freebie kits - downloaded loads yesterday - they are amazing. Just need to find time to scrap!!!!!

Blog train

Just found a new concept over at sunshinestudioscraps.com/blog

It is called a blog train and there are 18+ designers that each contribute to a HUGE freebie. It has taken ages to download them all but you are taken on a journey through loads of new blogs/store etc.

It is a great kit with a "rainy day" theme.

Survivor contest at Ginger Scraps

Have signed up for the survivor contest at . really looking forward to the challenge! Also looked at some of the monthly challenges - I could spend all day just browsing/scrapping but then life interferes!!

kids are on holiday next week and I have my brother visiting from Ireland. I hope to take lots of photos to give myself some new material.

I have reviewed all my pages and I need to do more journalling. I really struggle to write stuff down and it never sounds how I imagine it my head! I read other lo's and they are always so moving.

Monday 8 February 2010

How to improve!

I am looking around for some more sites that are running competitions or have feedback forums - Any ideas.

Also I have been looking at all the CT calls and wondered if this was something I should look at. Have done loads of LO with freebie kit but never published any so I may upload a few in the next few days!

DSA scrapp off results

I only got 1 point in the final week - I was a bit disappointed again as I thought this was a good as the first few weeks. I'm going to find some more contests where I can get some feedback!

Week 2 Score

Scored another 5 for week 2 layout. I was slighly disappointed not to have improved but I'm going to try really hard this week. I find the journalling really hard as I'm not a "wordy" person.

My First Follower

I have a follower - it is nice to think that some-one is actually looking at what I am doing! Welcome!

Tuesday 12 January 2010

Scored 5 for my week1 lo -really pleased.
